Together for the future of automotive security

|

ScapyCon 24 marks the start of an exciting new phase for dissecto and CYEQT Knowledge Base. The cooperation between two pioneers of automotive security sends a clear signal: The future of vehicle technology is networked and must be secure.

The two-day conference on September 18 and 19, 2024 in Regensburg marks the start of the new cooperation and brings together the leading minds in the industry. Together, we want to tackle the most pressing safety challenges of modern vehicles and drive forward innovative solutions.

A strong partnership for greater safety

Our collaboration with the CYEQT Knowledge Base team is a strategic move. As the official maintainer of the automotive branch of Scapy, dissecto focuses on technical innovations in the field of network manipulation and security. The CYEQT Knowledge Base, on the other hand, is considered the world’s largest learning platform for automotive cybersecurity and, as a provider of unique training courses on regulation and standards as well as the operational implementation of automotive cybersecurity, brings extremely comprehensive expertise to the table. This synergy makes it possible not only to develop new security solutions, but also to make them accessible to a broad audience. Together, we are building a platform that will be crucial for the security of connected vehicles in the future.

“With CYEQT at our side, we are exploiting the full potential of Scapy in the automotive sector,” explains Alexander Meisel, CEO of dissecto. “Our aim is not only to discuss the challenges of connected vehicles, but also to develop practical solutions.”

“Vehicle safety is not just about the regulations and standards, processes and MS Office that are now familiar to the market. We also want to include a deep dive into the security mechanisms of classic IT systems through to ASICs in our growing range of further training courses. With dissecto and ScapyCon, we have a great opportunity to show the endless possibilities of Scapy as a sophisticated security tool: from the manipulation of communication and information flows to the exploit of hardware. Know-how about hardware, tools and the mastery of the associated techniques must be promoted,” says Philipp Veronesi, founder and managing director of the CYEQT Knowledge Base.

New partnership: dissecto and CYEQT Knowledge Base

ScapyCon 2024 is also the starting signal for the new partnership between dissecto and the CYEQT Knowledge Base. With thousands of users and renowned corporate customers, the CYEQT Knowledge Base learning platform (formerly CYRES Academy) is a permanent fixture in the automotive cybersecurity market. Originally developed from the international automotive consulting business around ISO/SAE 21434 & UN R155 compliance, the training content and materials developed over the years offer a globally unique learning offer for the enablement of individuals, teams and organizations.

In detail, these are currently:

  • Automotive cybersecurity video courses, from introduction to deep-dive into vehicle cybersecurity engineering
  • Official personal certifications according to ISO/SAE 21434
  • Templates for the ISO/SAE 21434 work products
  • Technical literature, knowledge hub blog and more

In addition to the commitment to the growing automotive cybersecurity community at specialist conferences etc., the recently launched CYEQT Knowledge Partner Program offers new opportunities for cooperation for market participants.

Outlook: Alliance for the future

The aim of the recently announced cooperation is to pool the expertise of both companies and develop new offerings in the areas of training, enablement and knowledge transfer in the operationalization of cybersecurity for the automotive industry.

As part of the cooperation, both partners plan to jointly develop and establish content on the market that follows the claim of making practical knowledge from everyday development work tangible. In addition to synergies in the training and marketing business, further areas of cooperation are to be developed in the short term in order to reach broader target groups and thus further expand the development of security expertise in the industry.
